The first look of the upcoming short film VISHAAD has been officially unveiled, offering a haunting and poetic glimpse into a world shaped by silence, memory, and unresolved grief. The film is scheduled to premiere in January 2026 on the Pocket Films YouTube Channel.
Produced by Nilaanjan Reeta Datta under the banner of Finchbill Motion Pictures Private Limited, VISHAAD is co-directed by Navnita Sen and Nilaanjan Reeta Datta, with the screenplay penned by Navnita Sen. The film’s evocative music is composed by Ashu Chakraborty, adding emotional depth to the film’s meditative tone.
The short film boasts a compelling cast led by Ashish Vidyarthi, along with Rajeshwar and Ketaki Narayan, whose performances anchor the film’s quiet intensity.
When a weary inspector is drawn to the home of a reclusive scientist on the edge of a quiet town, what begins as a routine inquiry slowly takes an unexpected turn. As the investigation deepens, it becomes an encounter with memory itself—where loss finds an intangible resonance and silence begins to speak.
VISHAAD unfolds as a lyrical meditation on grief, time, and the fragile human desire to exhume emotions long buried beneath the surface.
Speaking about the film, co-director and writer Navnita Sen said, “VISHAAD is not a story driven by answers, but by echoes. We wanted to explore how grief lives quietly within us, how memories return uninvited, and how silence can sometimes communicate what words cannot.”
Producer and co-director Nilaanjan Reeta Datta added, “This film is very close to my heart. VISHAAD is an attempt to tell a deeply human story with restraint and sensitivity. Collaborating with such a talented team and bringing this narrative to Pocket Films feels like the perfect way to reach audiences who appreciate meaningful cinema.”
With its minimalist storytelling, atmospheric visuals, and emotionally resonant themes, VISHAAD promises to be a thought-provoking short film that blurs the boundaries between reality and remembrance. The first look sets the tone for an intimate cinematic experience, building anticipation ahead of its digital release on the Pocket Films YouTube Channel on 16th January 2026.
