She is not only one of the beautiful actresses in the industry but she is one of the most successful actresses in current time. The Sri Lankan Beauty who can make men’s go weak on their knees with her killing looks is now turning out to be a box office queen with her last two super hit films. In conversation with Bollywood Town she disclosed about her latest film, how Kick changed her Career and more…
This is your third movie in the last two months. So how does it feel having so many releases back to back?
Its really exciting especially when you get to work with actors like Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Varun Dhawan and Tiger Shroff its an amazing feeling. The previous two releases have been very successful and I have the same expectation from A Flying Jatt too. Back to back releases are sometimes a bit tiring but I am actually enjoying it at the moment.
Do you think the success you are getting today is because of the film Kick?
Since Kick it has been an amazing journey for me which I dont want it to end. It was a great experience working with Salman Khan too and since then my career took off. So I credit to Kick behind my success .
What went wrong before Kick?
I think what was going wrong before Kick was the fact, that I was low on confidence. I was working with same passion and dedication but somehow things were not working well for me. So I feel the belief is something which has changed the game for me here in the industry now.
What difference do you see between young generation actors and the stars who are ruling the industry for the last three decades?
These superstars like Salman, Shahrukh and Akshay have been in these industry from many years and they definitely have years of experience with them. But the reason I feel they are still Superstar is because they still have the same amount of energy that all these young guys have from Tiger to Varun and thats the reason they have been able to carry on for the past 30 years. But the one thing that I feel is common between all these actors is they are ambitious and they all want to do very well.
Tiger Shroff is known to be a very shy actor so did you find him?
I just used to make fun of him (Laughs). He is extremely shy and I am the usually the one talking, chatting and cracking jokes and everything. He keeps calling himself very boring but actually he is a very funny person to be around. But for someone like me who is an extroverted person and Tiger who is an introvert it was lot of fun because I do all the talking. Despite the fact that we are very different personality we actually have a lot of common interest as well like we both love fitness, we are into dance, and we both love to travel.
You have also work with his dad Jackie Shroff, tell us how similar are these two personalities?
I worked with Jackie Sir twice and they are very similar. I can see Tigers in future through Jackie Shroff just in terms of being so loving and so kind to people which they are. The only different what I see between them is Jackie sir is not shy like Tiger but he is very kind person.
When are you going to start shooting for your next film which will be co-produced by Salman Khan and whats the plot of the film?
We will start shooting for it sometime next year. Its a very interesting kind of script and a different kind of work for me as well. Its a fun film and you will see different kind of action in it. I definitely will be training for action and I am excited about it. Sushant Singh Rajput will be the lead actor in the film.
How do you react to the reports that Jacqueline Fernandez is following the footsteps of Katrina Kaif as you are taking a keen interest in the offers that are made to Katrina?
I havent seen those reports but I think its natural for people to feel actresses go after each other. There is no truth in these reports and thats why I dont react to it.
