Quite like her name, Daisy is a girl that can make you go weak in your knees with her charm. The young actress got a huge admiration for her work in Hate Story 3. Proving herself as an actress in different languages of Indian Film Industry she earned the title of most challenging young talent in the film industry. You chose to do South Indian films over the role of Kareenas friend in Bodyguard which later went to Hazel Keech. Is it because you didnt want to do the side kick ones?
Yes, I was approached for the second lead in Bodyguard but I didnt wanted to play a second fiddle in my debut bollywood film. Also at that time I was offered a South film as a female lead. So I thought it is better to do a lead role in South film rather than doing some side kick in movies. Also I think that once if you do such kind of role you get typecast which really affects an actors career.
In 2013, you got another chance to work with Salman Khan and play the lead role against him in Jai Ho. Did you see it coming?
To be honest, I never saw that coming. I never thought that Salman Khan will offer me Jai Ho. It is like I am really blessed to have gotten that chance from him because that is a very rare thing which he does and I feel like I am truly blessed.
Salman Khan is the real life Robinhood of Bollywood, can you share something thats best about him as an actor?
He is the most caring person, I have come across in my life. I am very thankful and grateful to have a friend like him. He is a huge support for me whenever I get into any trouble. He is a great actor. The record, the love and affection of the people speaks for itself. He does really good movies which are entertaining too. Lately he started doing movies which has a great message which reaches out to the society.
Jai Ho turned out to be a very successful debut for you, but it didnt boost your career as expected, whats your say on that?
I dont have any answer to this; I gave my best shot in Jai Ho but unfortunately it didnt boost my career that is a bit disappointing. I think the industry might have a better answer to it.
Having no background in Bollywood, tell us how did the idea of becoming an actor come to your mind?
I never thought of becoming an actor. When I was in class 10th I won miss photogenic award contest. Post my college I started doing modeling and then I got the opportunity to work with Ganesh Acharya. So things kept falling for me and I just went with the flow. New door opened for me. Everytime an opportunity striked at my door. I took it sportingly and I think that is how I became an actor.
Do you think that speculators are right when they say you made your acting debut a little late as compared to other actresses in the industry?
Well this question is completely out of my knowledge because I dont know any speculators telling me that I have made my acting debut a little late. Atleast I have never heard this coming from my ears. So I have nothing to say about it because I have no clue about it.
Name the kind of roles you would love to do and the ones youd never accept doing in Bollywood?
Well at this point of my career I dont think I have too many choices. I would definitely want to explore all kind of roles but I dont have anything in particular but yes if given a chance I would definitely want to do a movie like Mary Kom which has a lot of scope to show your acting ability. I think that is something I would really want to.
Both, Zarine Khan and you debuted with Salman Khan in Bollywood. Was there a challenge to prove your acting skills when working together in Hate Story 3?
Zarine and I never shared the common track in the movie. We were always on different lines so we never came across in the movie together. There was no such competition between us. Yet I dont know where this came out from that me and Zarine had a fight on the sets. She is a great friend and I have met her couple of times and I want to clear the air that there are no such things between us.
Can you describe your bonding with Zarine Khan in five words?
Zarine and Daisy get along with each other very well.
In the past we have seen actresses like Kangana Ranaut, Priyanka Chopra doing a full fledged women oriented film and pulled it off successfully. Do you believe industry should focus more on such type of films?
I completely believe that industry should focus more on woman oriented film because people outside the industry think that the industry is a male dominated industry. I really want this to change as they say that in todays time women and men both are equal. So I think if they can have great movies for men then they should also make good films for women too.
What is that one thing that you love about your job the most?
There are actually plenty of things that I enjoy about my job travelling being one of them. Being an actor we get to travel a lot of new places, we get to explore a lot of new cities and new countries.
Can you tell us your next in the pipeline after Hate Story 3?
There are talks that are going on about my next film but sadly I cant speak anything about it currently as nothing is been finalized. But whenever they do I am sure that the news will be out by the right people that is the production house.
