Raaj Shaandilyaa, the director, returns with a unique comedy-drama. Raaj is known for his unique storytelling techniques that appeal to modern moviegoers.
The protagonist of the tale is Vicky (Rajkummar Rao), a middle-class boy from Rishikesh who is well-known in the community as a mehndi-wala (mehndi artist). He has feelings for a medical student named Vidya (Tripti Dimri). Vicky was forced to call off the engagement and make arrangements for his own marriage to Vidya after her parents, Rahesh Bedi and Archana Puran Singh, confirmed that Vidya was engaged to someone else. During Vidya’s engagement ceremony, he skillfully plays a game and wins. Vicky and Vidya eventually tie the knot. When they travel to Goa for their honeymoon, everything changes. For the memories, Vicky records his honeymoon night (Suhaagraat) on camera. One day when they return to Rishikesh from Goa, a robber breaks into his house and takes a lot of items, including the CD player, which had the CD inside. Life makes a total U-turn here. Finding their CD was now the most difficult task because failing to do so would expose them. Their quest to locate their CD takes up the remainder of the narrative. Have they actually located their CD? The true core of the narrative is the climax. You have to see the movie to know what happens in the conclusion.
The focal points are Tripti Dimri and Rajkummar Rao. Both have dazzled the crowd with their incredible performances. In addition to the main characters, actor Vijay Raj is a highlight of the movie. He has good comic timing. His humorous speech and scenes had the audience in stitches. He has done a fantastic job at making the audience laugh. The film’s attractiveness is enhanced by actress Mallika Sherawat’s portrayal of a brat girl. The on-screen chemistry with Vijay Raj is wonderful. Whenever Vijay Raj and Mallika Sherawat come on screen, the real laughter starts. Apart from them, other artists like Tiku Talsania, Rakesh Bedi, Archana Puran Singh, etc. have also done justice to their parts.
The film’s music is another asset, in addition to its clever comedic plot. In the movie theater, the audience is unable to stop swaying their legs due to the amazing dance moves of Tripti and Rajkummar Rao, as well as the engaging songs. Hitesh Sonik’s score and Sachin-Jigar’s music are both very striking.
Overall, this is one of the finest comedy movies of the year. Director Raaj Shaandilyaa’s direction is simply awesome. So why wait? Go and watch it in your nearest cinema hall.
