Tusshar Kapoor on Golmaal Again!

How easy or difficult was it for you to play the character of Lucky in Golmaal Again again?
It was partly ency because I was working with the same star cast all over again. When you work with the same cast again, chemistry does come back and things become a little bit easier. So, when I was working for Golmaal Again, the atmosphere on the set was pretty similar. But every time Rohit Shetty makes a Golmaal film he ensures there is a new challenge for every character. In previous instalments of the franchise, Lucky was completely dumb. But here, he is speaking. That was a challenge. So, it is not always easy to slip into the same character which you have played several times.
Your character in the Golmaal film series has always been appreciated by the audience. How does it feel to come back to the franchise again?
What an actor constantly looks for is the audiences’ love and appreciation. I have been lucky that my character Lucky has always been appreciated in all parts of the franchise. I thank the audience that they made Golmaal filma so successful not only at the box office but on satellite also. All parts of the series have seen thousands of repeats on television and have garneved bage TRPs for the channels. So, this also makes it very clear than the people, especially the younger generation, who might not have seen the film back then, they are watching it on television. Working in a Golmaal film is like working with your family. You meet the same cast, crew and technicians and you don’t need to start afresh with them because you have already worked with them so many times before and forged a bond. So, yeah, I am always happy being a part of Golmaal family. It feels like a paid vacation.
How was it to shoot for the film and taking care of your son, Laksshya at the same time? You took him on the sets also?
Frankly speaking, I was a little nervous while taking him out for the shoot. But, at the same time, I wanted him to introduce to everybody in the team. I wanted him to travel. Fortunately, our schedule was such that I could easily manage everything without having any problem. He would come on sets during light change and next shots. It was a welcome change for him. Then we had a two months’ gap as Rohit was shooting for his reality show, Katron Ke Khiladi 8, so I spent a lot of time with him. I think if there is a will, there is a way. You can do anything if you know how to manage your time.
There are a couple of stories doing the rounds which claim that Rohit Shetty has already given his nod to the fifth instalment of the franchise. Do you know anything about the same? Has he spoken to you regarding the next part?
I hope there is a fifth part of the film. Yes, he has told me that there will be Golmaal 5 for sure. But I have no idea when he is planning to make it. I think he has a script in his mind but he has not shared it with nyone as yet. But if you ask me personally, I don’t think so he will make it immediately after the release of Golmaal Again. He will take some time. He may probably work on something else first and then come back to do it for the fifth instalment. But I am sure there will be Golmaal five-hundred percent.
Your best friend Kareena Kapoor Khan and her husband Saif Ali Khan have planned to send their son, Taimur Ali Khan to a boarding school. Are you planning something same for your son, Laksshay?
No, I will not send him to a boarding school. I will probably send him abroad later for his studies. Right now, I am not sending him anywhere. He is born to a single father and has only me and my family. If that is also gone, it won’t be good for him. I don’t think that kids who go to boarding schools are stronger or tougher than those who study while living with their parents. They go through the same problems and situations in their lives as kids who don’t go to boarding schools. My parents wanted me to send to a boarding school, I totally refused. said, I don’t want to go anywhere. So, yeah, Laksshay is not going anywhere for the time being
