Team Jayesh Training Classes proudly hosted the tricolour aloft after winning 89 medals at an international competition

Bangkok, Thailand: The prestigious 12th Tirak Taekwondo International Championship 2026 was held with great enthusiasm at Fashion Island, Bangkok (Thailand), from May 30 to June 1, 2026. The competition featured categories such as Poomsae (individual/pair/team), Kyorugi, Speed Kicking, Speed Punch, and Virtual Reality Taekwondo.

Approximately 2,000 to 2,500 athletes from various countries around the world participated in this competition. In such a high-level international event, athletes from Jayesh Training Classes (JTC) delivered an outstanding performance and proudly waved the Indian tricolour.

Under the guidance of international referee and coach Master Jayesh Velhal, JTC players won a rich haul of gold, silver, and bronze medals across various categories.

Athletes from Jayesh Training Classes proudly held the Indian tricolour aloft after winning a magnificent total of 89 medals at an international competition, bringing glory to the country on the global stage.

Furthermore, the tireless hard work, excellent planning, and consistent guidance of Master Jayesh Velhal and all the coaches at his academy played a pivotal role in this success. Over the past several months, they put in special effort to prepare the athletes for the international competition. Under their mentorship, the athletes won medals across various categories, proudly held the Indian tricolour aloft, and brought glory to the nation on the global stage.

Mr. Vijay Kamble, Secretary of the Mumbai District Taekwondo Association, graced the event with his special presence. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to Master Jayesh Velhal, the coaching team—comprising Nishant Shinde, Yash Dalvi, Krupesh Rankshetre, Swapnil Shinde, Umesh, and Amit Yadav—as well as the players and the entire team for bringing glory to both India and the Mumbai district at the international level.  He also extended his best wishes to all the players for future national and international competitions and expressed his good wishes for their continued success.

Dr. Zahir Ishaq Kazi, a Padma Shree award winner, called the team Jayesh Velhal to welcome and congratulate them on their extraordinary achievements. He personally discussed the way forward with Jayesh Velhal for Jayesh Training Classes. He extended his support to the team in every possible manner.

Dr. Zahir Ishaq Kazi, MD (Radiologist) is not only a highly respected doctor practicing since over 45 years in Mumbai, he is also the President of Anjuman-I- Islam (founded in 1874) comprising of multiple schools’ colleges universities and orphanages under it. He was awarded the prestigious Padma Shree award in 2024 for literacy and education by the President Draupadi Murmu in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Mr Amit Shah and many more dignitaries present at the Rasthrapati Bhawan. He continues to work for the people in education representation and health.
