Stree 2, a sequel to Stree (2018), features Purush, a male character, terrorizing the screen instead of Stree, a female character. Director Amar Kaushik has changed the focus from stree to a sarkata bhoot (headless ghost).

The story revolves around Vicky (Rajkumar Rao) and his friend Bittu (Aparshakti Khurana). Vicky, Bittu, and Jana (Abhishek Banerjee), who previously worked together to free their hometown Chanderi from the terror of Stree (the witch), are reunited by Rudra (Pankaj Tripathi) to get rid of the newly started terror of a headless ghost (sarkata bhoot). On the way to their attempt to get rid of that headless ghost, they had to call back to Stree (Shraddha Kapoor) to find the solution. Climax is the real crux of the story, so to know what happens at the end, one must watch the film.

As usual, Rajkummar Rao is the centre of attraction in the film, and he has once again impressed the audience with his best performances. Apart from him, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and Shraddha Kapoor have equally done justice to their parts. Overall, every artist has given their best to make this a perfect horror comedy.

Apart from a nice storyline, music is another strength of the film. The music by Sachin-Jigar and the background score by Justin Varghese are quite impressive and enhance the beauty of the film.

Despite having a better background score and more horrifying scenes with the best use of VFX and graphics, this time the storyline has a lesser impact in comparison to the previous instalment. The shift of focus from the Stree (a lady ghost) to a male ghost slowed down the craze of the Stree’s power, which was highly acceptable by the cinemagoers in the first instalment. Still, we can say that the director, Amar Kaushik, has tried his level best to meet the expectations of the audience once again.

Overall, this is one of the finest horror comedies of the year. So, why wait? Go and watch it in your nearest cinema hall.
