Director Rohit Dhawan’s Shehzada is one of the finest action drama movies of the year. This time, Rohit has tried to explore an action hero in Kartik Aaryan. Although it’s a remake of a hit Telugu film, certain changes are made to match the flavour of a Hindi-speaking audience.
The story revolves around Bantu (Kartik Aaryan), a young man from a middle-class background who, at the age of 25, comes to know that his biological parents are a millionaire couple, Mr. and Mrs. Jindal (Ronit Roy and Manisha Koirala). He was exchanged by his non-real father, Valmiki (Paresh Rawal), in the hospital when he was just 6 hours old. When he decides to learn more about his newly discovered biological parents, his life takes a turn and faces lots of challenges. In between, he meets Samara (Kriti Sanon), and due to an incident, both fall in love with each other. Does Bantu’s biological parent accept him? What happens to his current family? To know all this, one must watch the film.
Rohit Dhawan’s direction is fairly outstanding, and his action experiment with Kartik sends a good message for his upcoming action films. Shehzada appears to be a vast improvement over Rohit’s prior films, but we can’t argue that he is in the same league as his father, the legendary director David Dhawan. Ultimately, he has largely lived up to his instructions in this movie.
The story of Trivikram Srinivas is good enough, but some situational dialogue and heavy punches entertain the audience fully. Although the climax is easily predictable, but somewhere, the other good things balance it all.
Kartik Aaryan is the centre of attraction in the film. Kartik’s action sequences give a positive boost to the film. Kartik’s screen appearance is quite appealing, and the fight scenes and dialogues gel with his character, so he has fully justified his role. Other than that, the film has quite enough comic scenes that will make you laugh from time to time. Gorgeous Kriti Sanon’s latke-jhatke also enhances the beauty of the film. She has performed nicely and impressed the audience with her charming and bold look. Her dance steps are quite appealing and strengthen the overall feel of the melody. Apart from this lead pair, other artists like Paresh Rawal, Ronit Roy, Rajpal Yadav, Sachin Khedekar, and Manisha Koirala, etc. have also justified their parts in the film.
Aside from the excellent action scenes, Pritam’s music captivates the audience. Songs such as “Munda Sona Hoon Main” and “Character Dheelaa 2.0” are quite impressive and cause the audience to sway.
Overall, this is an action-packed movie with heavy dialogues and good songs. So, why wait? Go to your nearest movie theatre and watch it.
