India has a rich history of spiritual and devotional abilities, and numerous saints have occasionally inspired and illuminated the world with their knowledge. The biographical film “Sant Tukaram,” directed by Aditya Om, tells the story of the 17th-century Marathi saint and ardent follower “Sant Tukaram” Maharaj.

The story opens with the introduction of Vishambhar (Sanjay Mishra), a well-known devotee and the ancestor of Sant Tukaram (Subodh Bhave). He wishes to construct a temple dedicated to Lord Vithoba, but he is unable to locate the ideal idol. He discovers an idol in his kitchen garden one night when he unexpectedly awakens from his dream. Moneylender Bolhoba, who shares a family with the well-known Vitthal followers, is the father of Tukaram. Bolhoba was appointed to a marginalized community even though he worked in the moneylending and account management sectors. Since he was not exempt from the prejudices and dogmas of society, young Tukaram was resolved to fight against the bigotry that was prevalent. Due to his older brother’s introspective nature and disinterest in day-to-day activities, Tukaram married young and assumed leadership of the family business. Tukaram remarried as a result of his first wife’s constant illness. Avali (Sheena Chohan), his second wife, was a clever and practical person. Tukaram experienced sorrow early in life when he lost his first wife, parents, and kid to malnutrition and disease. Following these tragedies, he developed a strong sense of devotion and spirituality. The climax is the real crux of the story. So, to see what happens in the end, you have to watch this film.

Sanjay Mishra, Subodh Bhave, and Sheena Chohan are the actors who propel the movie along. They’ve all done their jobs in a good way. In the role of Avali, Sheena Chohan looked stunning, and her exceptional performance added value to the film. Twinkle Kapoor, Arun Govil, Shishir Sharma, Hemant Pandey, Rupali Jadhav, Lalit Tiwari, Shiva Suryavanshi, Mukesh Bhatt, and Gauri Shankar have also made an impression. In general, every artist has given it their best effort.

The charm of Aditya Om’s directorial is evident in this movie. He has tried to draw attention to all possible incidents from that era. Together with the director, the cinematography is superb and captures the natural environments to great effect. The script, story, and dialogue are all quite captivating and, for the most part, support that era.

All things considered, this is among the best historical/period films of the year, masterfully capturing the life and career of the legendary Sant Tukaram ji Maharaj. Why wait, then? Go and watch it in your nearest cinema hall.
