Yogesh Mishra | yogesh@bollywoodtown.in

Nyrraa M Banerji is one of the renowned actresses who has worked in Bollywood, regional cinemas, web series, music videos, TV shows, etc. She has been part of popular TV shows like Bigg Boss-18 and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi-13, etc. In an exclusive interview with Yogesh Mishra, she spoke about her childhood days, entry into Bollywood, favourite Bollywood actor and film, working experience with director Rohit Shetty in a TV reality show, future projects, and more.

Can you define yourself in one line?
I am confident, attractive, and charming.
How were you as a child? Can you share any of your memorable childhood incidents?
I used to be a very introverted and shy kid. I never used to eat food, and my most memorable incident is my mom used to run around me to feed me. Breakfast time becomes lunch, and lunch time becomes dinner time. Mom’s most of the time used to go in feeding me and get me to do my homework. I was a very, very naughty kid that way. Otherwise, I was a very decent girl. I was a God-fearing, not-talking-much, shy, and all that. Those kinds of qualities I had. Now I’m completely opposite to that. I can’t control eating food.
How easy or tough was it to get a ticket to Bollywood?
I never tried Bollywood. I’m a law graduate; also, I am specialized in intellectual property rights. I used to take part in Umang-like intercollege competitions, and a celebrity manager spotted me and said, “You are a perfect fit for South Indian movies.”. Then I had a huge conversation at home about whether I should go for films or not, because I had no godfather in the industry, no links, and I didn’t know anyone in the industry. Had no idea if it would work for me or not. My parents suggested I complete my education first, and then only I can choose the career path. This is how I entered into the Telugu film industry, followed by my Bollywood film where Priyadarshan sir launched me in “Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal”, the sequel to “Malamaal Weekly”.
Which Bollywood movie or song touches your heart?
I really love the film “Jab We Met”.
What do you do when you feel low?
I listen to house music. House music is something instrumental and nice songs; it calms me down, and this is how I get back to normal.
Who is your favourite Bollywood actor and why?
Salman Khan is my favourite hero. Luckily, in the Bigg Boss finale, he danced with me in a beautiful romantic song. This is my memory to cherish for a lifetime.
How is your experience working with Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi-13?
Another very, very handsome and dashing director, Rohit Shetty, with whom I work in Khatron Ke Khiladi 13. It is a beautiful experience working with him. He is a very adventurous person, and so am I. He is very strict. It’s not easy to manage home and show together, but I get a lot of support from my mom. I have reached out to the finalists, and I’m so, so happy about that. Now, in any of the disaster situations, I think I can help myself and others.
Apart from Bollywood, regional cinemas, and TV series, you have worked on many TV reality shows as well. Which segment gives you more work satisfaction among these and why?
I have done theatre, South Indian movies, Bollywood, TV shows, web series, etc., so I think I’m an all-rounder. Each platform is quite different from each other. It’s very satisfying that I’m equipped and skilled to work on any platform. Now I’m looking to do some serious roles. For me, every platform is very, very satisfying.
What are your upcoming movie projects?
I have an epic series that is releasing very soon. I have my Akbar Birbal play, and then I have a film with Ashutosh Rana sir, a rom-com film that is supposed to release soon.
