The film is based on the true event on the life of a flight attendant late Neerja Bhanot who fought for the life of the passengers on board in her flight Pan Am 73 which was hijacked in Karachi (Pakistan) in 1986. Director has beautifully shown how not only Pakistani Govt. but also Indian and USA Govt. were helpless to rescue the passengers from the plane which was hijacked by a fistful armed Palestinian men of the Abu Nidal Organization. Story is completely based on a single character Neerja that Sonam Kapoor justified with her mind blowing performance and that really helped this movie to reach on the next level.
Versatile actor Shabana Azmi in the role of Sonam’s mother has left an unforgettable image in the film. Except from Sonam and Shabana, other actors were lesser known in the movie but still actor like Jim Sarbh has justified his role and made his presence felt. Director Ram Madhvani was very much focused on the central story rather than dramatizing it or including filmi masalas. Almost every actor in film has given their best and justified the role. With her mind-blowing performance, Sonam made people cry in the cinema hall. This is an outstanding movie that no one should miss.
