It’s the age and the time of Pushpa. The first instalment Pushpa: The Rise’ was the remarkable phenomenon of 2021 which changed the entire dynamics of Telugu dubbed Cinema in the country and eventually in the world. Set in the Red Sandalwood locals of Andhra Pradesh, this mighty tale of a robust coolie whose rise at the top of the smuggling game was the highest grossing Indian film of 2021 with several accolades and the chartbuster music. The Music composer, Devi Sri Prasad composed five songs for this landmark hit which were received hugely in Telugu as well as in Hindi, making it the biggest record-breaker.

Now is the time of its sequel, Pushpa: The Rule whose teaser was launched on 8th of April which is the Birthday of Lead Star Allu Arjun’ and the first song got released on 1st of May, the Maharashtra Day or an International Labour Day. The teaser has already created a stir and with this single ‘Pushpa Pushpa’ the level of excitement has reached to an altogether different level. Composed by Devi Sri Prasad, this catchy song is released in 6 languages with a lyrical video. Snappy and instantly impactful, this song gives the glimpse of the world of Pushpa and has a mix of animation, live action, some cool sequences and solid shots.

Starting with the basic boyish humming of Pushpa, it takes over the voguish festive beat with the lyrics depicting the details and mannerism of the lead character. With lyrics like ‘Aasman se do guna uncha tera kad hai’ this brand consolidation anthem of Pushpa has a certain zing factor which stands out. The song graduates to the iconic imagery of Allu Arjun with the introduction of hook step and has a certain comic timing thrusted into it. It makes the whole offering a less serious business and more relatable and realistic. Raqeeb Alam understands this and has rightly positioned his lyrics with an acumen of brand recall and brand consolidation. Nakash Aziz and Mika Singh are the singers who complement each other in their rendering and the combination heightens the overall feel of the song. As usual, the sound design by Resul Pookutty is amazingly first rate and the technical team shines in the endeavor.

This First song release speaks volume of this potential blockbuster which is slated to be released on 15th August. The song is choreographed by Vijay Polaki and Sreshti Verma which again will be a big fodder for the reel makers. This second installment of Pushpa franchise boasts of a stellar cast of Fahadh Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna and Dhananjay along with the inimitable Allu Arjun and is supposed to be the most expensive Indian film till date. With this first song meeting up the expectations, it’s an obvious and euphoric journey of this phenomenon to live up to any filmmaker’s dream.
