Director Vishal Furia’s horror movie ‘Maa’ is one of the most awaited movies of the year. Kajol has explored her acting in a different kind of role as the mother of a teenage girl caught in a trap of a vampire. The movie beautifully talks about how a mother can go beyond any limit to save her child.

The film is about a fictional village, Chandrapur, in West Bengal, where a vampire haunts this village and demands the sacrifice of young girls. Ambika (Kajol), who goes to this village with her teenage daughter Shweta (Kherin Sharma) after the mysterious death of her husband Shuvankar (Indraneil Sengupta), gets stuck there badly. That vampire demands the teenage girls of the village so that he can spread his vampire family through these girls. This was really a horrifying situation for the villagers. Shweta, out of her curiosity, goes in that jungle with a village girl and gets stuck there. Now, Ambika had no choice but to go to any extent to save her daughter. Does she really escape Shweta? What happens to those other many teenage girls already under the trap of the vampire? To know the answers to these questions, one must watch the movie.

Actress Kajol had performed exceptionally well in the role of a mother whose daughter is under the trap of a vampire. Kajol is the centre of attraction in the movie. Apart from her, other artists like Indraneil Sengupta, Ronit Roy, Kherin Sharma, and Gopal Singh have also made their presence felt.

The music of Harsh Upadhyay, Shiv Malhotra, and Rocky Khanna is quite impressive and, to a larger extent, enhances the beauty of this horror movie.

Overall, this is one of the finest horror movies with a difference. So, why wait? Go and watch it in your nearest cinema hall.
