Kooki, directed by Pranab J. Deka, is one of the year’s most thought-provoking films. The film presents a fair conversation point for our judicial system and has the potential to spark a candid discussion on the subject.
16-year-old Kooki Mishra (Ritisha Khaund), the protagonist of the tale, falls in love with Saptarishi (Bodhisattva Sharma). She gets to meet her boyfriend one evening, but on the way there, she gets into an accident with four intoxicated people, and these four vicious creatures gang rape her. She not only loses her aspirations, dream, and mental anguish as a result of this sexual occurrence, but she also loses her self-worth and social standing. With the assistance of reporter Navnita (Devoleena Bhattacharjee) and SP Mandira Singh (Dipannita Sharma), as well as support from her father, senior lawyer Dhananjay Mishra (Rajesh Tailang), she wins her case in court and the four rapists are imprisoned. Is Kooki satisfied enough with this court decision? Is she truly feeling treated fairly? You have to see the movie to find out the answers to all of these queries.
Actress Ritisha Khaund is the centre of attraction in the film. Her exceptional performance truly leaves an impression on the audience. Ritisha’s participation as the film’s main character is entirely justified given that the tale revolves around a rape victim. Other actors who have performed their parts well include Rajesh Tailang, Dipannita Sharma, Devoleena Bhattacharjee, and Bodhisattva Sharma.
This amazing story has been expertly directed by Pranab J. Deka, and Ritisha Khaund’s exceptional performance has elevated the film’s caliber.
The lyrics by Avinash Chauhan, Ibson Lal Barua, and Dr. Sagar, as well as the music composed by Pallab Talukdar, Saurav Mahant, and Tapan Jyoti Dutta, give the sensitive rape victim drama more depth even though music is not a major component of the narrative. The movie’s soundtrack has been improved and elevated to a new level by singers Sunidhi Chauhan, Divya Kumar, Mohammad Faiz, and Kritika Sharma.
Overall, the film contains nearly everything that calls for a plot like this. Even without any stars, the film satisfies every quality standard of a decent film. The film deftly discusses the aftermath of sexual assault and poses an intriguing query to viewers. So why hold off? Go watch it at the theatre near you.
