While working in one of the most popular TV serial Bhabhi ji Ghar Par Hai! actor Saumya Tandon has reached to a new height of success. After hosting several superhit TV shows she has now become one of the most popular household name. She has worked in a film Jab We Met but after that she didn’t get any such major film offer so she continued her successful journey on TV. Let’s know some hidden facts about this beauty in her own words….

Can you share something about early days of your career?
I started my journey in the glamour world by winning first runner’s up title for ‘Femina Cover Girl’ 2006. Then I shifted to Mumbai from Delhi with a show on Sony TV, did Jab We Met after that, started my hosting journey on TV with the Superhit show Dance India Dance, Bournvita Quiz Contest, Zor Ka jhatka with SRK.
You have worked in a superhit movie like Jab We Met, then why suddenly you moved towards TV?
After the film my anchoring journey started and I did 12 shows back to back, I got busy and I didn’t get any such major film offer to leave this successful journey on TV.
How is your experience working with the team of Bhabhi ji Ghar Par Hai! ?
I love my team, our writer Manoj Santoshi is fabulous, our director Shashank Bali understands the nuances to subtle comedy and all my co actors are superb performers.

Do you feel that your character as an Anita Mishra in Bhabhi ji Ghar Par Hai! is so powerful that people will recall you by this name only?
Anita is the only Bhabhi who is independent, strong and has a mind of her own, romantic and has a very aspirational character. I am usually called Gori Mem. That’s my popular name these days thanks to the show.
How difficult is it to manage your personal life while working in daily soap?
Thankfully our production house is very organised and we shoot with one weekly off. Also because work is divided between two houses it’s less burden as compared to drama shows. When you are laughing all day, work seems play.
What is comedy according to you?
Comedy for me is not making faces and overacting. I like comedy which is intelligent, natural and relatable.
Any future plan?
I have my own movie viewing platform called 1018MB, we are trying to make the process of watching films in theatres in India democratic. So all my spare time goes in the venture.
