Director S. Shankar’s Hindustani 2 (Indian 2) is a sequel to Hindustani (1996) that tries to maintain the same action flavour as Kamal Haasan.
The story revolves around Chitra Aravindhan (Siddharth), who, along with his three other friends, runs a social media company by the name of Barking Dogs. Along with his three other friends, Chitra covers the stories of corrupt officers and exposes them through his social media platforms. Looking at the increasing cases of corruption in the city, Chitra recalls Veerasekaran Senapathy, alias Hindustani (Kamal Haasan), who was known to act against corrupt people once upon a time. In the search for Hindustani, he trends #ComeBackIndian on social media.
Finally, the idea works; he gets connected to a Hindustani who comes to meet him. He starts his action against high-profile corrupt people in the country. But was it really so easy for him to do so, as he used to do almost three decades ago? Does Hindustani become able to face today’s changed scenario, and most importantly, does he become successful in his mission? To know the answers to such questions, one must watch the film.
Kamal Haasan is the center of attraction in the film. He is back in the same action avatar as he was seen in prequel Hindustani (1996). Apart from him, other artists like Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, SJ Suryah, Bobby Simha, Samuthirakani, Gulshan Grover, Zakir Husain, and Piyush Mishra have also justified their parts.
Overall, this is one of the finest action movies of Kalam Haasan. So why wait? Go and watch it in your nearest cinema hall.
