Emergency is one of the most anticipated movies of Kangana Ranaut. Finally, after facing many legal issues, the movie has arrived now in cinemas.

The story revolves around Mrs. Indira Gandhi (Kangana Ranaut). It’s a biographical drama based on the ex-prime minister of India, Indira Gandhi, so the story is mostly known to the people. It beautifully showcases the story of Mrs Gandhi, starting from her childhood days to entry into politics to emergencies, coming back into power again and till her assassination. Since it’s based on known historical fact, there’s no need not to tell the story.

Actress Kangana Ranaut is the heart and soul of the film. She has portrayed the character of Indira Gandhi in a much more convincing manner. She is perfectly fit into the role and impressed the audience with her mind-blowing performance. Apart from her, actor Shreyas Talpade has proved his ability by playing young Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji. Anupam Kher, in the role of Jaiprakash Narayan, has impressed the audience with his outstanding performance. Other than them, artists like Satish Kaushik, Milind Soman, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhary, etc., have also done justice to their parts.

The cinematography is outstanding. Cinematographer Tetsuo Nagata has beautifully captured the scenes in the camera. Each scene, in fact each frame, showcases that era and keeps the audience engaged till the end.

The first half is more like a documentary, since it defines Indira’s initial journey till the imposing emergency in the country. The later part has more drama that really keeps the audience engaged. Despite being the leading lady, Kangana has beautifully managed the directing part too. The charisma of her direction can be easily seen.

Although music is not the focused area in this political biographical drama, still the songs by GV Prakash Kumar and Arko, the score by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara, and the lyrics by Manoj Muntashir enhance the beauty of the film.

Overall, this is one of the finest biographical dramas of the year. Kangana has done her best, be it acting or her direction. Know why Indira was known as an iron lady and experience the power of politics and its aftereffects in this high-voltage political biographical drama. So why wait? Go and watch it in your nearest cinema hall.
