Director Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge‘ is a sequel to the blockbuster Dhurandhar, released in December 2025.
The movie starts with showcasing the history of Jaskirat Singh Rangi, alias Hamza Ali Mazari (Ranveer Singh), who belongs to an army men’s family in a small village of Punjab (India). To save his sister from local goons who took extreme, inhuman steps against her and other family members, he arranges the weapons from Allahabad’s mafia don and kills many people involved in destroying his family. This incident changed his life. He was sent to jail, and soon he was supposed to be hanged. Looking at the situation, Ajay Sanyal (R. Madhavan), the IB chief, released him illegally from police custody and offered him to work for Indian intelligence agencies. Since he belonged to an army man’s family and he himself was trying to join the Indian Army, there was no doubt about his patriotism. Sanyal positioned him in Pakistan. The rest of the story is shown in the first installment of Dhurandhar. After the death of Rehman Dakait (Akshay Khanna), Lyari of Karachi was looking for its new don, which Hamza takes over smartly. Now SP Chaudhary (Sanjay Dutt), ISI’s Major Iqbal (Arjun Rampal), and Dawood Ibrahim (based in Karachi) are the key people doing a conspiracy against India. Did Hamza become successful in his mission? The climax is the real crux of the story. So, to know what happens at the end, one must watch it.
Unlike part 1, once again there is a beautiful Arabic song, but this time it is filmed on Ranveer Singh. The second instalment is more powerful in terms of action scenes and Hamza’s character. Arjun Rampal’s and Sanjay Dutt’s roles have greater impact in comparison to the previous instalment. Rakesh Bedi’s role has much more intensity, length, power, and, of course, a shocking climax. Actress Sara Arjun’s role is still small but quite impactful. R. Madhavan’s role is, as usual, small, but whenever he comes on screen, he fetches the eyeballs of the audience with no blinking.
The movie strongly supports a few steps of our government and proves how it was necessary and had no choice but to implement them. Demonetization, the URI and Pathankot attacks, Dawood Ibrahim’s current role and impact, and Allahabad’s undisputed don to Mumbai’s 26/11 are the backdrop of the story.
Action scenes are outstanding, and the performances of almost every artist are incredible. The magic of Aditya Dhar’s direction can easily be seen this time again. This is a fully power-packed, eye-opening, and mind-blowing film that will keep you glued to your seat in the cinema hall.
The only concern area of the film is its 229-minute (almost 4 hours) length. The audience may miss Rahman Dakait’s character this time. The violence scenes are too much as expected, so weak-hearted people must avoid seeing this film. Few brutal murder scenes may shake your soul from inside.
Overall, this is one of the finest movies in the history of Bollywood’s action spy movies. So, it is a must-watch film, especially for those who have seen the previous instalment and those who like spy action movies. So, why wait? Go and watch it in your nearest cinema hall.
