Director Anurag Singh’s Border 2 is an outstanding film that talks about a stirring blend of courage and sacrifice. This is a standalone sequel to JP Dutta’s milestone 1997 movie Border.

The story revolves around Lt. Col. Fateh Singh Kaler (Sunny Deol), a senior Indian Army officer taking care of a larger stretch of the India-West Pakistan border. All three defense forces, be it army, navy, or air force, are well connected and familiar with each other. Indian army officer Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya (Varun Dhawan), Air Force officer NJS Sekhon (Diljit Dosanjh), and Navy officer Lt Cdr MS Rawat (Ahan Shetty) maintain greater coordination and understanding to save the country from every end, be it land, air, or water. Since the story is based on the historical incident of the 1971 war, there is no need to discuss the climax.

Actor Sunny Deol is the heart and soul of the film. Sunny Deol, an actor, is the film’s main character. We can hear the applause and whistles in the theater because of his exceptional performance, particularly during the action scenes. Another draw of the movie is Varun Dhawan. His portrayal of an army officer is just excellent and very intriguing. Ahan Shetty and Diljit Dosanjh both gave outstanding performances that gave the film its punch. Other performers, such as Anurag Arora, Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh, Medha Rana, Anya Singh, and others, have also created an impression with their modest yet breathtaking performances.

Cinematographer Anshul Chobey does a fantastic job capturing the war scenes. The settings and other historical artifacts are shown so that you can experience the 1970s. There wasn’t much room for cinematic liberty because the plot is set in the 1971 war. The dialogue and screenplay are well-written and appropriate for that time period.

Apart from a good screenplay and dialogues, the music is another USP of the film. Manoj Muntashir Shukla’s songs are heart-touching and quite appealing. Few songs are new, but a few songs, like Sandese Aate Hain and Ae Jaate Hue Lamhon, are remakes of the 1997 release Border. Music simply enhances the beauty of the film.

Overall, Border 2 is a must-watch film that no Indian should miss. The charisma of Anurag Singh’s direction can easily be seen. The power-packed action sequences and the emotional scenes connect every moviegoer. So, why wait? Go and watch it in your nearest cinema hall.
