Assi, director Anubhav Sinha’s one of the most anticipated movies, broadly talks about the rape cases in India.

A gang rape survivor named Parima (Kani Kusruti) is at the center of the narrative. Parima is abducted from a Delhi street in the middle of the night by a group of criminal pals, who then gang rape her and put her next to a railroad track. She was severely injured. Raavi (Taapsee Pannu), her attorney, puts up a fierce battle on her behalf in court, but will she be able to secure true justice for such a horrible crime? Really, are rapists and criminals exposed? To know the answers to these questions, one must watch it.

Actress Taapsee Pannu is the center of attraction of the film. Her performance as an attorney is simply exceptional. Her courtroom pleas can make audiences think of some classic Bollywood courtroom dramas. The performance by Kani Kusruti, an actress, is extraordinary. Her breathtaking performances have wowed the audience. In addition to these, Kumud Mishra’s impressive performance has won the heart of the audience once more. Apart from them, other artists have also left their mark, including Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub, Nasiruddin Shah, Manoj Pahwa, Seema Pahwa, and others.

The charisma of Anubhav Sinha’s direction can easily be seen once again in this film. He has taken care of every minor thing while shooting, be it selection of artists, location, or anything else.

Although music doesn’t play a major role in this courtroom drama, the music and the background score are still quite impactful. Apart from a good storyline, the screenplay and dialogues are quite impressive and hold the attention of the audience till the end.

Overall, this is one of the finest courtroom drama of the year. So, why wait? Go and watch it in your nearest cinema hall on 20th February 2026.
