Actress Akanksha Puri, known for her versatile performances, is making waves with her role in Dons and Darlings, a web series produced by ALTT. According to Akanksha, today’s audience is all about compelling narratives, and this series delivers just that.
“In today’s world, it’s all about a good story. Glamorous, rustic, or realistic—it doesn’t matter as long as the story connects with the audience,” she shares. Playing Naaz, the daughter of a powerful Don and married to another, Akanksha delves into a character far removed from her real-life identity as the daughter of an Assistant Police Commissioner.
“Naaz is very different from me, and that’s what made the role exciting. As an artist, I was fortunate to explore so many shades within one character. Naaz is a daughter, a wife, a lover, and part of the most powerful family. Yet, all she craves is love. I believe many people will resonate with her struggles and emotions,” Akanksha explains. She also highlights how her character’s unique journey sets her apart.
When it comes to working with her co-stars, Akanksha says the experience was smooth and enjoyable. “Even though I didn’t know anyone personally or work with them before, the chemistry was natural, and everyone was well-prepared. It made shooting a breeze,” she says.
Speaking about her collaboration with ALTT, Akanksha adds, “This is my second project with ALTT after Honey Trap Squad. It’s always a pleasure to work with them. They are extremely organized and clear about the creative vision, which makes the process efficient and enjoyable. I’d love to collaborate with them again.”
