‘Welcome To The Jungle’ is the third installment of ‘Welcome’ movie series but this time directed by Ahmed Khan.
The story revolves around Rajiv Saini (Akshay Kumar), who is a struggling actor but once upon a time was a big star. His career downfall compels him to do a Bhojpuri film, but a twist comes in his life when he once again gets a big Hindi movie offer directed by Dev (Paresh Rawal) and Das (Rajpal Yadav). Dev and Das are big flop directors; that’s why they are chosen to direct this film by a notorious industrialist (Zakir Hussain) who wishes to make a huge-budget flop movie so that he can show a big loss in his business. His daughter Jenny (Jacqueline Fernandez) also cast herself in this film to act. Finally, the entire cast and crew reach a shooting spot in Kashmir, but due to miscommunication between these two directors, they meet the real villagers and the real villain (terrorist) Zatara (Jackie Shroff). Here the major twist comes in their lives. Do they really come back alive from there? Does this film really get completed? To know the answer to these questions, one must watch the film.
Even with a strong cast, a popular franchise name, and a respectable budget, the film fell short of the audience’s expectations. Despite all the positive aspects, the audience was let down by the weak plot and poorly crafted dialogue and screenplay. Additionally, the audience misses Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar, who were once the core of the “Welcome” franchise.
‘Welcome’ movie series are always known not just for its nice comedy but also for hit music. But this time, music is comparatively weak. This time the music of Vikram Montrose, Anand Raai Anand, Talwiinder, NDS and Sajid-Wajid could not do much wonders.
Overall, this is an okay movie that tries to make the audience laugh but to a bigger extent has not been able to match the expectations of the audience. Expectations have significantly raised with such an ensemble cast and a successful “Welcome” franchise film. It is advised that you watch it at least once if you enjoy comedy and action.
