Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s The Vaccine War is one of the finest medical-thriller movies. Unlike his two previous masterpieces, he is once again back with The Vaccine War with an eye-opening secret.
The story revolves around the days of the Covid-19 pandemic. Dr. Bhargav (Nana Patekar), head of ICMR in direct contact with PMO, leads a mission to save India from the pandemic by developing its own vaccine. In association with an India’s biotech company, ICMR starts working on developing an indigenous vaccine for Covid-19. They face lots of challenges not just from the overseas but also from India's few politicians and media houses. A narrative was being created by a section of the media who wishes that India should not have its own vaccine, but rather buy from foreign companies. Whatever happens at the end is the real crux of the story. So, to know what happens at the end, one must watch the film.
Actors like Nana Patekar and Pallavi Joshi are the key pillars of the film. Nana centrally controls the entire film with his outstanding performance as a scientist. On the other side, Pallavi Joshi, in her new avatar, has impressed the audience with her outstanding performance. Actor Anupam Kher is in a small role, but quite impactful. Apart from them, other artists like Raima Sen, Nivedita Bhattacharya, Sapthami Gowda, and Girija Oak have also justified their roles in the film.
Although music does not play a major role in the medical thriller film, the music of Rohit Sharma, Vanraj Bhatia, Swapnil Bandodkar, and Shryea Kaul is quite impactful. Overall, the music has enhanced the beauty of the film to a greater extent.
Overall, this is one of the finest medical thriller movies that no Indian should miss. Once again, director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is back with a burning issue and is unfolding the truth behind whatever happened to humans during the pandemic. So, why wait? Go and watch in your nearest cinema hall.
