Director Abhishek Sharma's Ram Setu is more like a documentary-drama than a commercial film. With fewer commercial angles, the movie talks about the current status of Ram Setu.

The story revolves around an atheist archaeological scientist, Aryan Kulshresth (Akshay Kumar), who was assigned the task of finding out if the Ram Setu, situated in Rameshwaram, was constructed by Lord Ram or not. Since he was a non-believer, he and his family faced the heat of this investigation by the community. Due to a conspiracy, Aryan gets eliminated from this special task from the government, but his capabilities get noticed by a marine business tycoon, Indrakant (Nassar). He wanted the destruction of the Ram Setu so that a big shipping port could be constructed there, which would be very useful and profitable for his business. He privately hires Aryan to work on this project so that he can prove in the supreme court that Ram Setu was not constructed by Lord Ram. Did Aryan succeed in his mission? What did the Supreme Court finally give its verdict on Ram Setu? To know the answers to all these questions, one must watch the film.

Although music does not have any majour role to play in this film, but still, the music of Daniel B. George is quite impressive.

Actor Akshay Kumar has performed nicely and added value to his character. Although actress Nushrratt Bharuccha does not have much to do in the film, she still impresses the audience with her innocent looks and decent performance. Other artists like Jacqueline Fernandez, Nassar, Pravesh Rana, and Satyadev Kancharana have also done justice to their parts.

The direction of Abhishek Sharma is quite impressive. Since the movie talks more about the real-existing situation, legality, and historical parts of Ram Setu, the movie seems more like a documentary film than a commercial film.

Overall, this is one of the finest movies of the year. One must know the facts behind our mythological and historical side of Ram Setu, which, according to the Holy Ramayana, was constructed by Lord Rama. So, why wait? Go and watch it in your nearest cinema hall.
