Director Sanjay Gupta’s Mumbai Saga is a gangster drama based on the journey of a local goon of Mumbai. This power-packed movie is all about power, money and politics.
The Story revolves around Amartya Rao (John Abraham) who belongs to a lower middle class family running a vegetable shop in Mumbai. Once, the goons of Gaitonde (Amole Gupte) beats his younger brother for the argument during collection of gunda-tax. Amartya takes revenge by cutting hand of that goon. From here onwards his life changed. He had no choice but to run a group of gangsters so that he can protect himself and his family as well. Looking at his daring, a powerful politician Bhau (Mahesh Manjrekar), started giving him support and thus Amartya spreads his illegal business and crime. A top cop Vijay Savarkar (Emraan Hashmi) takes a challenge to encounter Amartya. Climax is the real crux of the story. To know what happens at the end, one must see the film
The power-packed action scenes are the real USP of the film. On the other side, Emraan Hashmi's character as a top cop adds value to the film. The screen appearance of Mahesh Manjrekar as a top influential politician is simply mind-blowing. Other artists like, Kajal Aggarwal, Rohit Roy, Prateik Babbar, Amole Gupte and Sunil Shetty have also justified their performances in the film.
Although music doesn't have much roles to play in this film but still Amar Mohile's music entertains the audience. The song of Yo Yo Honey Sigh and Payal Dev are quite impressive.
Screenplay and dialogues increases the beauty of the film. In almost every scene there are powerful punches. Heavy dialogues actually compels audience to clap. This is more like a powerful action movie of 90s era that ruled single screen theatres. The screenplay of Sanjay Gupta and Robin Bhatt are highly appreciable.
Overall, this is one of the finest action-crime movie. This is full of action scenes and sequences. The action movie lovers must not miss it. So, why to wait, go and watch it in your nearest cinema hall.
