Kaagaz is a biographical drama written and directed by Satish Kaushik. This is released on OTT platform and in selected cinema halls in Uttar Pradesh.
This film is based on the real life of an Azamgarh based farmer Mr. Lal Bihari. Actor Pankaj Tripathi has played his character in the film and Monal Gajjar as his wife Rukmani. Story revolves around Bharat Lal (Pankaj Tripathi) who is declared as a dead on paper by his uncle and cousins to take his share of land in his native village. He lives with his wife and two kids away from his native village and runs the business of band party. For a bank loan he was asked to bring the papers of his land that he owns. For that he goes to his native village and there he comes to know about this conspiracy. Since he is declared dead on paper so he can’t take any loan. Now his struggle starts from here to prove himself alive on paper. He appoints advocate Sadhoram (Satish Kaushik) to fight his case in the court. Story becomes more interesting and complex towards the climax. So, one must see the film to know what happens at the end.
Talking about the performances, actor Pankaj Tripathi’s performance is simply the best. He has impressed the audience with his mind-blowing performance. On the other side actress Monal Gajjar has also impressed the audience with her outstanding performance. She is completely fit into this character. Although Satish Kaushik has not a big role in the film but his dialogues are quite impressive. The other artists like Amar Upadhyay, Mita Vashisht, Neha Chauhan and Brijendra Kala etc. have also justified their presence in the film. In an item song actress Sandeepa Dhar has also impressed the audience with her latke-jhatke.
The music of Pravesh Mallick, Rahul Jain and CeAzar are quite impressive. Songs are very much relatable with the storyline. So, overall music has added the value to the film.
The direction of Satish Kasuhik is unbeatable. He has perfectly utilized the actors and other resources to make this a perfect film. Once again, he has proved himself as one of the best directors of Bollywood. This story is beautifully written by him only. The screenplay and dialogues are another strength of the film.
Overall, this is an outstanding film. It’s a satire and we can say that it’s a slap on the system. This is a family entertainer so; it can be recommended to see with the family. No one should miss it.
