Many little girls aspire to be fashion models when they grow up. However the lives of these models are often far less glamorous than they appear. Fashion model Archana Chandele in a candid conversation spilled the beans to Yogesh Mishra about her early life, her journey to Mumbai and the term ‘Compromise’
Give us a brief about your Childhood?
As a kid I was very shy. Till the age of 12 I lived with my Nani - because of financial crises. We are four sisters and I am the youngest of them. I couldn’t enjoy my childhood because I had responsibilities on me.
After finishing my Inter College, I started to work at a call centre in Nagpur; in the meanwhile I also finished my graduation.
When did the idea of coming to Mumbai strike you?
Mumbai was quite far. I didn’t want to enter Mumbai as a layman. My idea was to achieve something before proceeding there. Then I got an opportunity for a fashion show which was held in Mumbai. I travelled to Mumbai for an audition and after I got selected for the fashion show I then eventually got shifted to the city.
Tell us about your achievements…
My first and the biggest achievement is winning the ‘Bright perfect Miss India’ Contest. Thereafter I won ‘Miss Mumbai Diva’ and ‘All Achievers Award’.
Who are your inspirations in Bollywood?
I am a huge admirer of actresses like Madhuri Dixit, Hema Malini and Rekha.
Are you familiar with the term “Compromise”?
Yes I am aware of this term, however being a part of modeling industry for the past few years I have never come across such things.
Would you compromise to get a role in Bollywood?
No. definately not, because i would get my chance on my own work and skills rather than compromise.
