Minissha Lamba is one of the renowned Bollywood actress who worked in many hit movies like- Corporate, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd., Bachna Ae Haseeno, Bheja Fry 2, Zila Ghaziabad, Bhoomi and many more… Apart from movies, she has appeared in few TV series and reality shows as well. In an exclusive interview with Yogesh Mishra, she spoke about her childhood days, favourite songs, turning points in her professional life, future plans and more…
Can you define yourself in one line?
Tell us something about your basic family background and childhood days?
It was fantastic. We are so lucky to have the parents that we do.. Life was full of games and sports after school. Sleepovers at friends. Video games. A beautiful lovely pet dog called Misty who stayed with us for 16 years forming such an integral part of our lives. We would have our own cycle that make us independent. Zooming from one place to the other all the time. It was fantastic.
You have worked with TV and big screen as well. What are the differences according to you?
There is no real difference. To me acting is acting.. Regardless of the medium. With television upu get to be one character for a longer time. It has its advantages and disadvantages. With filsm you live a character for a shorter time. Before you move on to the next film.
Which Bollywood movie or song touches your heart?
The classics I grew up watching.. Which are a classic for me... Are films like Mr. India.. Quamat se quamat tak. Challbaaz.. I love the songs of Atif Aslam. Most songs of bhatt films are great. Most of arjit Singh songs are a balm to the soul
What do you do when feel low?
Play with my dogs. Have long hot showers. Lose myself in books
Who is your favourite Bollywood actor and why?
More than having a favorite... I admire a lot of them actors and actresses for being at the top of their game for so many years. Which is the most difficult thing to do in a profession like this... Their stories... Determination... And staying power is something that I hugely respect.
How easy or tough was it to get a ticket to Bollywood?
For me it happened easy. But the most important and difficult part is staying around. Continuing to do work that is relevant.
What were your turning point in your professional life?
I think my whole career for a few years was a series of successes and highs for me in terms of the kind of films I got to do and the people I worked with
Due to corona pandemic everything was stuck. How do you utilize this lockdown period?
I didn't do much as I could have. Did the things I love doing even more... Reading
In case, if you wish to change your industry, then what would be that?
I would be a writer..
